The file picker returns standard MIME types
The file manager reported a made-up type, and one of the image pickers refused every selection. Both defects were fixed.
The file manager returned an internal label, such as file/json, instead of the file's standard type. Whoever received the file did not recognise the label.
The type is now resolved from the extension, with application/octet-stream for anything not recognised. It is a resolution by file name, not an inspection of the content.
The second defect was silent and total: in one of the image pickers, the type check was a comparison that never came out true, and every selection was refused. The check was replaced by the one the other pickers already used, and a test walks the 29 known extensions to make sure none is left without a type.
In short
- Standard types, such as
image/jpegandapplication/json - Image selection works again
- A test stops a new extension from being left without a type
