Line 3.1: the Dashboard board becomes a record, a widget and a page
On the 3.1 line, still in development, the free-position board got objects, versions, a widget to place it on any page, a board pages module, ready-made templates and analytics events.
The free-position board reached the Dashboard on the 3.0 line (see the widgets update). The 3.1 line explores how far it can go. None of this is on 3.0 or on main.
Five phases
1. Free objects: text, shape, image from the file manager, icon and call-to-action button, with Google Fonts, a background image and the option to hide by screen width. 2. System board: a named board that any widget administrator can open, duplicate or overwrite; the 20 latest versions are kept, with restore. 3. Widget and pages: the "Board" widget draws a board inside any page, without an iframe and read-only. The Board Pages module (dashboard-pages) builds a page from a board and a template, with display controls and an HTML editor. 4. Templates: ready-made boards as a system resource and "Create from template", with an AI mode to generate the arrangement. 5. Analytics: the published board emits the c2f:analytics page event (visit, item seen and click).
Status
Each phase was validated on the 3.1 test installation with browser scripts. Acceptance is pending, and the event's path all the way to Google Analytics has not been exercised yet.
