Authored JavaScript is minified during build
The system's own scripts gain a compact version, generated at build time. The total delivered dropped by 53%.
c2f assets:minify generates the minified version of each authored script. Across the 64 files of the core, the total went from 1,588 KB to 739 KB.
Minification happens at build time, not while answering. The static file server already answered with size, cache and partial reads calculated over the file on disk; minifying during the response would break all three guarantees. Now it only chooses which file to send.
A manifest stores the signature of the original file, and --verificar flags a compact version that went stale. In development mode, the system always serves the original, so debugging keeps the real names.
In short
c2f assets:minifygenerates the compact version- From 1,588 KB to 739 KB across 64 files
- In development, the original file is still served
